Saturday was a smaller turnout, which featured the new card game Gorgon. This is the game with the pretty cards. As I sit here and try to think about what to say about it, I can't even remember the rules. I guess that is my initial feeling, forgettable. Was not a bad game by any means, and I enjoyed the games we played. Just don't remember them... Well, everyone liked this game last week, it has one flaw, I will get to that in a moment. The game played with 6 suits, each suit id numbered 0-15, the lower numbers have amulets on them. The starting player plays 1-3 cards, the set can be anything but three of the same suit. when everyone has played the same amount of cards, they all flip. The starting player picks a suit to go into battle, everyone that played that suit sends the highest card in to battle, the people with the lowest cards discard them and take a card for each card discarded, the winner puts the card in his/her score pile. The Catch is all players must play a different combination but the last player can only use colors that have been played. We ran into the problem that if you play a set of two of one color, the players just play something the last player does not have, this gives them a "free ride". I think if we played with a new house rule, we could fix the game. Houserule: The starting player plays 2-3 cards, but can not play all of the same color, they must have at least 2 suits. At the end of the game, the players score the amount of amulets in his/her score pile, zeros of each suit double the score of that suit. if you get two zeros of a suit you will double and double again. the player with the most creatures of each suit will get a bonus of 10, ties get 5, no matter how many ties.

Cartagena - Ray was the winner. As usual everyone else would have won on their
next turn. We are getting too good at Candyland...
Bean game (lost of dust wiped off cards, some players fleeing to
cigar
room). Mike wins with 19 points! (Suzanne 17, Lisa 16, Jeanette 14, don 12)
Pirateer. This stupid little game kept us amused for hours. Stephen (don's
son) won the first game by kicking our butts. Don won one, Steve won two
and I finally won one and then quit playing!
Drink was Alize', a french drink of Cognac and passion fruit juice. ohh....
Don brought a Martini kit complete with olives.
Oh yes, Mike had to stare at my awesome Robotron score. Heh!
Next Sat, noon to 7... GEEK FEST!
